The freedom of being a Global Woman

Mirela Sula - Editor in Chief of Global Woman magazineOVER THE LAST TEN YEARS, I have had the good fortune to work for five different magazines and I have very much enjoyed the journey of growing personally and professionally while listening to so many amazing stories that have inspired me immensely. When I arrived in London I never knew that my path would lead me on this passionate journey and, the more I travel, the more I feel that this is a journey that is leading me to a very important destination.

Although we live in a new era, we are all still very much connected with the old roots of the past, which encourages us to stay authentic no matter how much we are tempted to change and adapt within a modern society. The good news is that we have the freedom to create our own reality and to choose where we wish to belong. We are all free to choose who we want to be or evolve into over time. Today we all accept the notion that freedom is the right of all humans in a world where we have a right to have our voice heard. This gives us the confidence and knowledge that we are all free citizens of one united world.

The aim of Global Woman.co is to touch the freedom of the entire world and still stay connected with ourselves and everyone we meet during the journey. In this society that is changing every day, we are always searching for someone who is like us. People have a need for each other, to confide, to feel accepted, to be non-judgmental and to be motivated to look towards a better future. This gives us new energy to believe that the world is not as unfair as it often appears, even when it sometimes seems to be in collusion with evil. So it is important that we must never lose our belief in all that is good – and we must use our power to stay focused and move forward.

“As a woman I have no country. As a woman I want no country. As a woman, my country is the whole world.” – VIRGINIA WOOLF

With the new sense of this freedom some still fear that they will get lost in this big world. It is the fear of being or becoming an outsider in a world that continues to expand through the growth of globalisation. Additionally, this fear extends to the extremely fast technological developments that seem beyond our reach. The thirst that we have to rule the world and the possibilities that we have to integrate and assimilate are real challenges. It seems equally as strong as the desire to better know ourselves. Who are we?

Where are we going? What does the future hold for us? These are the questions we all need answers to.

Global Woman.co platform is an invitation to unite women around the world who want to find more answers on their journey and to act as a guide to help each other to make this journey easier and more meaningful in a complex world.
